Autism in Early Childhood: Evidence-Based Practices for an Inclusive Classroom

In this presentation the most common learning characteristics of children on the autism spectrum will be discussed. Evidence-based practices to help the child with autism experience success in the general and special education classroom will be shared. Real-life examples will be used from the presenter's 20 years of experience teaching in an early-intervention classroom. Strategies to promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment will be taught. Practical, easy-to-implement and effective strategies that can be utilized in the early-childhood and early elementary classroom will be shared!
